Analysis and Implementation of a Hybrid DC Converter with Wide Voltage Variation

A new hybrid DC converter is proposed and implemented to have wide voltage variation operation bidirectional power flow capability for photovoltaic applications. The converter, including a half- or full-bridge resonant circuit, adopted realize the low switching losses. To overcome problem (60 V–480 V) from panels due sunlight intensity, structure half-bridge circuit used in presented implement high gain under input condition. Using pulse frequency modulation (PFM) scheme, transfer function of controlled regulate load voltage. Due symmetric structures on primary secondary sides can be achieved with same characteristics. Therefore, applied battery stacks achieve charger discharger operations. Finally, 400 W prototype implemented, performance confirmed by experiments.
